Poetry New Zealand Yearbook 2017

$35.00

POETRY NEW ZEALAND, New Zealand’s longest-running poetry magazine, showcases new writing from this country and overseas. It presents the work of talented newcomers and developing writers as well as that of established leaders in the field. This issue features a powerful new poetic voice: Elizabeth Morton. While still in the early stages of her writing career, Elizabeth has already won a number of prestigious awards, including the New Voices Emerging Poet Competition (2013), as well as – twice – second place in the Sunday Star Times Short Story Competition (2015 and 2016). Her first book of poems is due out from Mākaro Press in mid 2017. Two sample poems can be found here: Invoking the muse, in the garden by Elizabeth Morton, and it's ok to lie if you mean it by Emma Shi.
