ATE Journal of Māori Art is an annual, peer-reviewed journal with an explicit focus on Māori art, artists and art movements. ATE is co-edited by Matariki Williams and Bridget Reweti with support from the editorial board Professor Robert Jahnke, Sean Mallon and Professor Huhana Smith.

Content for Volume Two considers the relationship between tāngata whenua and the wider Moananui-a-Kiwa and was developed during a wānanga held with participating writers, Dr Emalani Case, Hanahiva Rose; guest speakers Bridget Williams, Cassandra Barnett, Sean Mallon, and Aroha Rangi. As with Volume One, ATE is supported by the editorial board, Professor Robert Jahnke, Sean Mallon and Professor Huhana Smith.

 Articles in Volume Two reflect the breadth and beauty of ngā toi Māori including the Aotearoa Moana Nui A Kiwa Weavers, Maureen Lander, Rangi Hetet, Reweti Arapere, Pacific Sisters, Ngāti Porou carvers, Israel Randell, Ruth Buchanan Ayesha Green and Bob Jahnke. We are also pleased to include a republished text from a rangatira of te ao Māori, Ngahuia Te Awekotuku.
