Red Bull Can
This object was discovered on a lockdown walk around the block in Shirley, Ōtautahi.
Rescued from the gutter or the kerbside leaf pile, it was painted and transformed, questioning the definition of trash, revealing beauty in the broken, and reclaiming its materiality and usefulness in a time where regular art supplies were hard to come by.
It featured in the artist’s exhibition, The Quality of Ordinary Life, at Art Hole, in July 2020.
Molotow paint markers on found object, varnished.
